Memo: Alternative Lifestyles, reducing our carbon footprint.

For my first story I would like to focus on alternate lifestyles people are developing in NYC in response to climate change or those simply seeking to limit their carbon footprint.  I believe this is a broad enough idea where I can essentially research from here many topics ranging from how food production, including raising livestock, are impacting our environment and how people are taking steps the make change.  I can explore sustainable or econ-friendly practices of restaurants and stores, environmental regulation and green building practices.  Primarily I would be focusing on sustainable efforts being made by restaurants and grocery stores locally.
